Introducing Our New Chief Medical Officer: Dr. Kathy Cornelius

Dr. Kathy Cornelius steps into the role of Chief Medical Officer, providing leadership to our health system’s providers and ensuring the achievement of the company’s quality measures goals and objectives, driving excellence in patient care. Dr. Cornelius brings with her a wealth of experience and a deep commitment to our shared mission of improving the quality of life in our community by providing access to quality healthcare services.
About Dr. Cornelius
Before joining us at CNAHSI, Dr. Cornelius held various roles, including Medical Director, at esteemed institutions such as Evicore Health Care, Randallstown Site of Chase Brexton, and Discovery Medical Center.
Dr. Cornelius is a proud alumna of the Wright State University Boonshoft School of Medicine, where she completed her medical education in 2006. She further honed her skills during a Family Medicine residency at the University of Pennsylvania Health System.
Outside of Work
Beyond her professional achievements, Dr. Cornelius exemplifies a compassionate and community-centric approach to healthcare. She actively participates in mission trips, extending critical healthcare to underserved communities. Her devotion to empathetic care and her strong sense of community make her an ideal leader as CMO here at Central North Alabama Health Services, Inc.
In her personal life, Dr. Cornelius wears many hats, including those of a devoted mother and spouse. She places great value on physical activity, finding solace and strength in her regular practice of Yoga. Additionally, she is dedicated to nurturing her musical talents and finds joy in baking, reading, and juicing.
